THE POWER OF REIKI HEALING

I had heard about Reiki, and knew numerous people who regularly went for healing sessions, but had never had any myself. Before I relate my own experience I will give you some background information about myself and the chain of events that led me to my own encounter with Reiki.

I was involved in a very serious road accident in 2007 and was not expected to survive due to my numerous severe injuries. I had fractured 41 bones including my skull, neck, back, pelvis, both legs and many others as well as splitting my bladder, liver and right kidney. Just to compound the situation more I had a punctured and collapsed right lung and was bleeding internally from a major artery in my right leg. I was given 40 pints of blood in the first 5 hours of being admitted to hospital. I am told that I died on the tarmac at the scene and twice in ICU but on each occasion was brought back from the brink so to speak.

Eventually after 6 months of hospitalisation I was allowed home with twice weekly physiotherapy sessions and countless out patient appointments to keep me mobile and check that all my fractures were healing straight and strong.

After two years the hospital doctors were happy I was as fit and as well as I would ever be under the circumstances. I had a right knee that would only bend from 5 to 55 degrees and a drop right foot. This meant I could not bring my toes up towards me and need to wear a brace to hold my foot up so that I can walk without catching my toes and falling over.

Right now we can talk Reiki and my own experiences of it. I was persuaded into giving it a go by Lynne, a lady I know who does a weekly session close to where I live. I must admit I was somewhat sceptical about attending but I was experiencing a lot of pain from my ribs, right foot and knee which was only bearable with strong prescribed pain killers. After my first session with Lynne and Janet, which lasted about one hour, I came away feeling a little bit let down as I still had some pain albeit reduced but after my second session with the ladies I knew something had changed. I could not and still can’t put my finger on it but my knee felt easier and more mobile and my chronic pains were all reduced. I had another session just recently, with Lynne, Janet and Wendy, as I was suffering chest pains, which is not surprising as I broke every rib on my right side and several on my left, and from that day to this I have not had to use pain killers except for the day I twisted my knee. This gave me almost a week pain free which is a wonderful testament to the ladies who helped me through a very trying time for myself.

I am a very logical person as I am an engineer who is used to things happening because all the right conditions are met. If you pull this lever then something moves, if you turn a handle something else turns etc. Reiki however is not logical to me because just by someone touching you they can remove pain or cure some ailment which does not compute with my logical brain. The only fault with my logic is that after 3 sessions with three dear ladies I have a much better quality of life all because they laid their hands where I was feeling pain and somehow removed or eased the pain. As I wrote earlier I have no idea how they are able to do this but I am so grateful that they can as it has helped me enormously and unlike tablets there are no hidden side effects.

As a result of my experience I can only hope that more people give it a try as it can do no harm and at worst will have no effect at all. On the other hand it may help and improve your situation as it did for me so come on have a try today, you will never know if you don’t give it a chance.

For what it is worth I can strongly recommend Reiki to anyone suffering from aches or pains for whatever reason. You do not have to be as broken as I was to have a go, even if it is only mild pain then why suffer with it when there are people out there who can offer help without the need of tablets or medicines. Never mind the old adage “no pain no gain” why suffer pain when there is no need with good healers available to all who need them.

I hope my story can inspire some of you to bite the bullet and give three dear ladies, Lynne, Janet and Wendy, the chance to demonstrate the power of Reiki healing and all its benefits. Believe me I speak from experience,

I was dubious at first about having a Reiki treatment in a cricket club. This made me put off going for a treatment; however, the pain I was experiencing - regardless of the pain killers I was taking, which my doctor had prescribed - was still very much interfering with my sleep and my day-to-day life. I finally bit the bullet and rang to make an appointment     When I arrived, I found, to my relief, that the cricket club was lovely. The ladies set it all up, and relaxing music is played; there are crystals placed around the room, and tea lights burning, and once I was ready to get on the couch, I found the lights were turned off and they worked in the candle light. I was very comfortable, warm, and felt secure. As soon as my head went on their special pillow, I was relaxed. I felt hands go on me, and warmth and tingles.....it was all quiet except for the background music. I admit I fell asleep, and the next I knew, it was one and a half hours later! One of the ladies was sitting beside me as I woke. I was helped to sit up and then given a drink of water. I was helped off the couch and we then sat to chat over a nice cup of tea. I have slept so much better since my first treatment. I am still having a little pain, but nothing like I had previously, and though I am still taking the pain killers, I have reduced them. I will go again next month.....these ladies are lovely, and the club house is very nice. Thank you, ladies, for treating me, and for the hugs as I was leaving. Mrs W.   Wakefield West Yorkshire

My dear ladies, your combined efforts have brought me so much more quality of life that I never thought possible.I am in very little pain on a normal day, unless I think I am 18 years old and try something perhaps I should not,but the cold soon strikes at my knee and foot. This I know is beyond your control bit I have to dress up warm on my legs to help keep the pain bearable.I was bought some knee warmers for Christmas and they help no end.

Right I am digressing again so back to you ladies. I have stopped trying to understand what, and how you do it,but somehow you have brought me enormous relief from the chronic pain I was in and made it easier to live with.My daily intake of pain relief tablets is usually zero but I do occasionally have to take a few because of the cold.

Your warming touch and friendly conversation is a theraputic remedy all its own and I thank you all so very very much for all you have done for me.Without your healing I would be in a much worse state than at present and words cannot express my gratitude. I was a sceptic until I first came to see you but not anymore.Once again thank you all for your efforts and understanding on my behalf.
Yours forever grateful
