The following words echo our own attitude to working with animals.

These are the thoughts of legendary healer and clairvoyant Bill Harrison. Sadly he died in 2008, These are Bill’s words..

“Amongst all the complementary therapies available today, perhaps the one that’s caught people’s imaginations the most is animal healing - so many people love their animals more than people today. Animal healing comes naturally to me and I have been working with it now for many years.  We see many animals of all sizes as people have all sorts of unusual animals as well as their cats and dogs, not just domestic but wild ones too.

The most powerful way of reaching any animal is to send it distant/absent healing.  That’s when we use a thought or prayer to reach them.  It doesn’t matter where they are in the world or what time it is, they will be reached.  Most healers have a healing book where you can put the name down of the animal requiring healing. The healer should take into consideration if the animal can travel, as often, due to its illness, it will make the condition worse.

As a healer, I do the laying on of hands if possible, as this way gives me an opportunity to feel the animal, allowing me to become aware of its condition.  If it’s in pain, I also talk to it in my mind, telepathically.  This gives me more information to pass onto its owner. It can be very strong at times when you feel in your body what the animal is feeling.  Often the owners are very surprised and pleased to hear what you have to share.

When it’s a wild animal, the healer often likes to see but not necessarily touch it. Even working this way, the healer becomes very aware of what is happening with the animal and learns to remove those feelings from their own body quickly.

In my experience animals respond to healing twice as well as humans.

They have no barriers.

Healing comes in many guises
 to help live life to the fullest or to make life bearable,
it also brings love & peace towards the end of the journey.

A Dog's Purpose (from a 6-year-old)

Belker was Shane's dog and wanted to be with him to the end.

 Shane (age 6) seemed so calm, petting the old dog for the last time. Within a few minutes, Belker slipped peacefully away.

The little boy seemed to accept Belker's transition without any difficulty or confusion. We  wondered  aloud about the sad fact that animal lives are shorter than human lives.

Shane, who had been listening quietly, piped up, 'I know why'.
He said, 'People are born so that they can learn how to live a good life -- like loving everybody all the time and being nice.

Shane continued, 'Well, dogs already know how to do that, so they don't have to stay as long'.

Live simply.
Love generously.
Care deeply.
Speak kindly.

Remember, if a dog was the teacher you would learn things like:

* When loved ones come home, always run to greet them.
* Never pass up the opportunity to go for a joyride.
* Allow the experience of fresh air and the wind in your face to be pure ecstasy.
* Take naps.
* Stretch before rising.
* Run, romp, and play daily.
* Thrive on attention and let people touch you.
* Avoid biting when a simple growl will do.
* On warm days, stop to lie on your back on the grass.
* On hot days, drink lots of water and lie under a shady tree.
* When you're happy, dance around and wag your entire body.
* Delight in the simple joy of a long walk.
* Be loyal.
* Never pretend to be something you're not.
* If what you want lies buried, dig until you find it.
* When someone is having a bad day, be silent, sit close by and nuzzle them gently.

The law with regard to complimentary therapies for animals

As current UK law stands, only AN OWNER or VETERINARY SURGEON is allowed to administer treatment to an animal. No one other than a veterinary surgeon is allowed to diagnose the cause of illness in an animal.

You are legally obliged to take your animal to a Vet if it is injured or suffering, then you have the right to choose treatment as long as the animal is prevented from suffering. You cannot inject your animal unless the vet has instructed you to do so. This is subject to The Protection of Animals Act of 1911.

The Veterinary Surgery Exemptions Order 1962 states that the only other types of therapies that can be given to an animal by a non-veterinarian are manipulative therapies i.e. Chiropractic, Osteopathy & Physiotherapy; Behavioral Therapy, Reiki, Faith Healing & Energy Healing.
